Welcome to the Double N Ranch! We have been raising and loving miniature donkeys since the early 1980's, when we purchased our first donkey -- a loveable gelding. The Double N Ranch bases its reputation on honesty and integrity both in the breeding and care of their animals and in their associations with customers and visitors. The Double N Ranch is a very special place.

Meet Peggy Nelson, who loves her babies. Peggy will be happy to take you on a tour of the Double N Ranch, show off the myriad of awards and her extensive collection of donkey figurines from around the world.

MINI FACTS

    • Life span: 25-40 years with proper care.
    • Height: 36" and under.
    • Weight: 200 to 450 pounds.
    • Colors: slate, black, spotted, brown and sorrel.
    • Jacks are males; jennets, (or jennies) are females.
    • Babies are foals.
    • Very companionable with other livestock and become quite attached to herd mates and owners.

MINI CARE:  Miniature donkeys require a small amount of grain, good quality hay, a mineral salt block, and fresh clean water. They should have draft-free shelter from rain, snow, wind, and hot sun. They also need an area for grazing and exercise with fencing 4 to 4 1/2 feet high.
Mini's are remarkably hardy and healthy. They require only preventative vaccinations and should have their hooves trimmed every 4 to 5 months.
